Make a Felt Bowl, Wednesday 8 July 2026, Coughton Court, Coughton, Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 5JA.
10am - 1pm
Join textile artist Penny Dixon to create a stunning felted bowl from pure merino wool. Spend time in the beautiful surroundings of Coughton Court, being guided to lay the soft wool to achieve the best effect for a 3-D piece. Bring your own colour ideas or take inspiration from our lovely surroundings.
Connect with history in this lovely space and absorb yourself in this 6,000 year old craft - yes really!
Using a soap and water solution you will be guided through the process of gently agitating and rolling the wool fibres to help them interlock and form a 3-D piece that you will then mould into shape and take away with you. (Please note that stitching and decoration on bowls is recommended to do later at home when bowls are dry.)
You will be helped along by refreshments throughout the morning too!
You are welcome to visit the onsite cafe after your workshop and there is an opportunity to visit the house and gardens for an additional cost of £15.50, paid on the day
All materials and refreshments are provided but please bring a large old towel to work on and a waterproof carrier bag to take damp work home in.
The workshop is on the ground floor but there may be uneven surfaces. Parking is £5 which can be redeemed against a purchase in either the shop or cafe.
Cancellation policy - Refunds are only available up to 1 week before the course date. Less than 1 week, customers are moved to another session with mutual agreement. You can also transfer the booking to another person.
In the event of there being not enough people at a workshop we reserve the right to request customers move to another mutually convenient date. A week's notice will be given for this.
