Wednesday 17 June 2026, Coughton Court, Coughton, Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 5JA.

10am - 1pm

Join textile artist Penny Dixon to create a fabulous picture made from pure merino wool.  Spend time in the beautiful surroundings of Coughton Court, thoughtfully laying soft wool with guidance. Connect with history in the space but also absorb yourself in a 6,000 year old craft!

No drawing or painting skills are required and we will take inspiration from our surroundings and the work of Impressionist painters.

Using a soap and water solution you will be guided through the process of gently agitating and rolling the wool fibres to help them interlock and form a fabric picture or mat that you will be able to take away with you. You will be helped along by refreshments throughout the morning.

You are welcome to visit the onsite cafe after your workshop and there is an opportunity to visit the house and gardens for an additional cost of £15.50, paid on the day

All materials and refreshments are provided but please bring a large old towel to work on and a waterproof carrier bag to take damp work home in.

The workshop is on the ground floor but there may be uneven surfaces. Parking is £5 which can be redeemed against a purchase in either the shop or cafe.

Cancellation policy - Refunds are only available up to 1 week before the course date.  Less than 1 week, customers are moved to another session with mutual agreement.  You can also transfer the booking to another person.

In the event of there being not enough people at a workshop we reserve the right to request customers move to another mutually convenient date.  A week's notice will be given for this.
